10/03/2010: Archery Tournament

Horker Apati beat Tumail team by 11 points in the final match of Archery tournament held at Chutumail Sport Stadium today. Apati Archery team scored 25 points while Tumail team able to score only 14 points. This Archery Tournament was organized by Sports & Social Welfare Association Soth Kargil which commenced on 6th March and 26 Archery teams of Soth area took parts in the Archery Tournament.

A colourful function was held at the occasion of final Match Chief Executive Councilor Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan attended the function as chief guest, while Executive Councilor Haji Ghulam Amir, Councilors, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Reyaz Ahmad Shiekh, S. P. Kargil Ajaz Ahmad, Army and Civil Officers also present at the occasion as special guest.      

Speaking at the occasion Chief Executive Councilor greeted Apati team for wining the tournament and also appreciated the spirit of Tumail team. He also stressed to maintain peace and unity in the area to ensure all-round development of the area.

Executive Councilor Haji Amir, Deputy Commisssioner Kargil Reyaz Ahmad Shiekh, Councilor Haji Ibrahim and Councilor Mohd Mussa also spoke at the occasion and appreciated the efforts of Sports & Social Welfare Association Soth in organizing such tournament in the area.

Later representatives of Soth area projected their demands which include lift irrigation facilities, creation of new block and posting of lecturers/ Masters in Higher Secondary/ High Schools of Soth area. Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan assured to consider all their demands of priority. He also distributes prizes among winner and runner up team.

   
08/03/2010 : Breeder-cum-Infertility Camp organized by Animal Husbandry Department, Kargil

Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) – a centrally sponsored scheme under Agriculture sector is being implemented for the first time in the state during 2009-10. Under this scheme, the Animal Husbandry Department Kargil organized a Breeder-cum-Infertility camp at village Apati, Kargil on 8th March 2010. Sh. A.A.K. Kacho, Hon'ble Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil was the Chief Guest and Haji Ghulam Amir, Hon’ble Executive Councilor, Agriculture and Tashi Phunchok, Hon’ble Executive Councilor, Tourism were the Guest of honour on the occasion.

About 120 progressive breeders from the villages of Barchey, Youbaltak, Toumel, Akchamal and Apati participated in the camp. Some photographs of the camp is shown on the left.
